Please join with us in recognizing National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month!
Telling someone about our experiences can be difficult. Knowing how to respond to someone when they share their truth is even more challenging. That is why we are using each day in February, Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, to highlight responses you can use when a teen tells you about violence they have experienced. No response is neutral; every interaction is either healing or harming. We encourage you to consider the power your words contain as we build a community that supports survivors and sends a clear message that violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Find us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (https://prevailinc.com/index.php/about-us/contact/social-media).
You can also find a brand new 2019 TDVAM toolkit by following the link below. Included are statistics, activity ideas and conversation starters, resources, and ideas for how you can get involved. During February, as with any other time of year, Prevail encourages you to consider how you can start discussions about healthy relationships, boundaries, and consent with the teens you interact with. Feel free to pass this on with any of your contacts or colleagues that would benefit from this information.
Let’s all work together to create a future free of violence.
